Server address

https://itsaclip.com/mcp. It speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP and you sign in with OAuth or an API key.

Set it up

Claude (claude.ai, desktop and mobile)

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2. Name it It's A Clip and paste https://itsaclip.com/mcp.
3. Click Connect. You'll be sent to itsaclip.com: sign in, tick what Claude may do, and click Allow.

Other apps with a "connect / add MCP server" button (ChatGPT, Cursor and others)

Add https://itsaclip.com/mcp as a remote (HTTP) MCP server and sign in when asked. It's the same Allow screen.

Claude Code, scripts, and apps that take a token

1. Make a key on your Account page under AI access. Copy it, because it's shown only once.
2. Add the server with the key as a bearer token:

Permissions

You pick these when you click Allow, or when you make a key. The AI can't do anything outside them.

Permission	Lets the AI
View	See your account, credits, jobs, clips, schedules, analytics and Watch Dog. Always on.
Clip and edit	Submit links and uploads (spends your credits), stop jobs, edit clips and captions, change Watch Dog.
Post	Post and schedule clips to the social accounts you connected on the Posting page.

To switch it off, open your Account page → AI access and click Disconnect or Delete. It stops working straight away.

House defaults (colorize, AI upscale, auto music, watermark, yellow captions) are on unless the AI turns them off; the reply lists the settings used.
clip start_upload · finish_upload	Clip a video file (up to 4 GB), with the same options as a link. Needs an AI that can send files, like Claude Code.
clip start_filler_upload	Upload the picture or video for the other half of a split screen, inset or gameplay format.
clip stop_job	Cancel a job. Its credits are refunded.
clip set_caption · rewrite_caption	Write a caption exactly, or have It's A Clip rewrite it with a note.

post post_clip	Post a clip now. Each platform gets its own caption.
read get_templates	Every option on the Submit screen: formats (incl. Top 3 / Top 5), finishing, hook styles, 16 caption styles and 11 animations, each with its real preview video or picture, what it is for and the house default.
clip open_clip_setup	Opens the Submit screen inside the chat (Claude, ChatGPT): live price, finishing, formats and captions with real previews, uploads, directions and autopost. You tap Submit; it starts exactly what is shown.
post run_campaign	Run a brand campaign in one call: scenes, a version per platform, the campaign's rules and logo, priority posting and automatic submission of every post.
post post_clips	Post picked clips across accounts, a different version per platform, and submit each post to a Content Rewards campaign.
post schedule_post · cancel_scheduled_post	Post later, or cancel a scheduled post.

Limits and rules

• Same rules as the website. Every tool runs the same checks as the dashboard: credits, 3 jobs processing at once, 25 jobs a day, up to 50 clips per video.
• Credits: 10 per video + 3 per clip + 1 per started hour of footage. Unused credits are refunded, and a failed or stopped job refunds everything. The AI can't buy credits.
• Asks before it spends or posts. The AI is told to show you the price before clipping, and the clip and caption before posting. Most AI apps also ask you to approve each action.
• Uploads need an AI that can send files from your computer (Claude Code can). A chat app should send a link instead. Uploaded files take the same options as a link.
• Autopost needs the post permission. Asking a clip to post itself when it is finished counts as posting, so an AI connected without post can clip but can't set autopost.
• Things it can't do: buy credits, change plans or billing, change your password or email, delete your account, connect or remove social accounts. Do those on the website.
• 60 tool calls a minute per connection.

For developers

• Endpoint: POST https://itsaclip.com/mcp, JSON-RPC 2.0, stateless. Protocol versions 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26 and 2024-11-05.
• Auth: Authorization: Bearer <token>. Without one, you get a 401 whose WWW-Authenticate header points to /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource.
• OAuth 2.1: authorization code with PKCE (S256), dynamic client registration at /oauth/register, metadata at /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. Access tokens last 1 hour and refresh tokens rotate.
